Polish citizenship:
support throughout the process
There are two main ways to obtain citizenship in Poland: recognition as a Polish citizen (uznanie) and granting of citizenship by the President (nadanie).
Recognition as a Polish citizen is suitable for foreigners who have been living in the country legally and for a long time. Holders of a permanent residence card, EU long-term residence card, or temporary residence card may apply, provided they meet the residence requirements. A stable income, housing in Poland, and knowledge of Polish at the B1 level are required. The decision is made by the voivode.
Polish citizenship is granted by individual decision of the President of the Republic of Poland.
This option is available to foreigners who do not always meet the formal requirements but have special grounds (Polish origin, family in Poland, significant achievements). The procedure does not have clear criteria and depends on the decision of the President.
Choosing the right procedure increases the chances of a positive decision and reduces the processing time.
